Because of its strategic location, Alella is the best place for wine tourism; several cellars are located there, which can be visited to discover the winemaking process. Alella even has its own Designation of Origin.
The Arenys de Mar has been a benchmark in the regional fishing industry, due to its sizeable fishing boat fleet. It also hosts a number of pleasure boats, and numerous workshops and nautical activities are organized there. The harbor has a parking zone, two shipyards, nautical stores, and bars / restaurants among other facilities.
The oldest natural park in Catalonia, one of the most important ones, and the southernmost natural spruce forests in Europe. The three mountainous areas surrounding the park are called the Turó de l'Home, the Matagalls and the Pla de la Calma. We can find examples of the three European biomes there (mediterranean, euro-siberian and boreal-alpine). UNESCO declared the park a biosphere reserve in 1978.
Calella's symbol. It was powered by oil under pressure, then with petroleum, and didn't became electrified until 1927. This lighthouse is recognized by most star charts due to its powerful light. It also offers the best views of Calella, as well as the best sunset.
The shape of Sant Pol de Mar makes it so most of its beaches are small rocky bays. It is a unique feature in the area, where large extensions of coarse sand beaches are usually omnipresent. Sant Pol offers instead beaches of the kind you would find in the Costa Brava.
This town contains several buildings constructed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, such as the Casa Roure or the Ateneu. Once a month, on a Saturday, a guided route is organized. Path: Riera Sant Domènec, carrer Ample, carrer Castanyer, plaça Macià, Escales del Sant Crist, carrer Església, riera Buscarons and Casa-Museu Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
Built by the Milanese architect Ercole Turelli, its construction was started in 1685 and ended in the 18th century; its is one of the best examples of Catalan Baroque. It is furnished with frescoes, oil paintings and sculpted elements designed by Antoni Viladomat from the year 1772.
