World-famous for its landscapes and crystalline water, this Mediterranean corner is next to our hotels. Discover the medieval town of Tossa de Mar and its castle, the gorgeous towns of Cadaqués, Roses and Empuria Brava, known as the Catalan Venice for its canals, or the wonderful Dalí Museum in Figueres. Here we tell you what you can visit in the Costa Brava.

What to Visit
No events this month.
Blanes

This town is also known as the "Costa Brava's Doorway" since its islet named Sa Palomera symbolically marks the beginning of the former. Aside from its beaches, Blanes offers sights such as its chapels, the Sant Joan Castle or the Mar i Murtra Botanic Gardens. Its annual festival (end of July) hosts the biggest fireworks contest in Europe, bringing in half a million visitors coming to see its jaw-dropping pyrotecnic performances.

Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches and bays, as well as its list of night leisure offers. It also hosts a number of historical and emblematic locations to visit, such as the Museu del Mar, one of the last Indiano houses in town, the modernist chapels from the Parrochial Church of Sant Romà, the Castle of the Plaja or the Santa Clotilde Gardens.

Tossa de Mar

This beautiful walled city has been a meeting point for artists all over the world, such as the painter Marc Chagall, which named it "The Blue Paradise"
The Ava Gardner movie "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" was also shot here. At the highest point of the wall you will find the lighthouse, where an old castle that also doubled as a watchtower used to be.

Roses and Empuriabrava

The Roses Muncipality's Coast includes a long sand beach and a great number of bays further east, including Canyelles Petites, L'Almadrava, Punta Falconera y Montjoi. Empuriabrava is known as the Catalan Venice thanks to its 24 km worth of navigable canals. From the town's port you can see the Roses Bay in all its splendor and the Medieval castle of Castelló d'Empúries.

Cadaqués

Cadaqués is a typical fishing town and the easternmost point in the Iberian Peninsula. Its privileged location next to the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the perfect state of its white houses and its streets filled with plants and flowers, makes it an ideal place to walk around its old town and its beaches. This location also hosts the Salvador Dalí Museum and the Sant Jaume Castle.

Calella de Palafrugell

This old fishing town has kept its original ambience and charm, and is known for the good state of its beaches and its rural zone at the outskirts. Calella is located near Cap Roig, the famous musical festival of the same name where artists from all over the world meet. It is also known for its habaneras annual meeting, and it's in the old Hotel Battle that Joan Manuel Serrat wrote his song "Mediterráneo", inspired by the beautiful landscapes of this Costa Brava town.

Begur

Located at the heart of the Empordà, the town of Begur and its beaches are one of the best locations in the Costa Brava. This beautiful locality keeps important vestiges of its vast history, going back to the Stone Age and continuing with the Ancient Iberians and the Medieval Ages. The figurehead of its rich patrimony are its castle, the five defense towers that protected the city from Moorish piracy, and numerous houses from the Indiano era.
After visiting those sites, you can rest at one of its eight bays and beaches around the Costa Brava.

Figueres and the Dali Museum

It is the most important city around the border with France and is the center of a communications hub that makes it a mandatory entrance for travelers and tourists entering or leaving Spain. During the Spanish Civil War, the city was heavily bombed and was not rebuild until the fifties. This location hosts the Dali Museum, since the famous painter was born there. It is one of the most visited museums in Catalonia.
